Impressing changes in the line-up of the Dubai World Superseries Finals, the reigning Olympic Champion and two-time World champion and All England champion Men’s Singles player Chen Long and his compatriots in Men’s Doubles, Olympic Champion Fu Haifeng- Zhang Nan, have declined their Olympic Games wild-card entries into the Finals.
In a bid to announce replacements, the organizers invited the 35 year old Hu Yun from Hong Kong to compete in Men’s Single, who’ll participate in the season-ending badminton tournament which starts on December 14, 2016, at Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai.
In the Men’s Doubles, the Singapore Open Super Series title winners Fu and Zhang will be replaced by their younger compatriots, Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen at the prestigious tournament.
In the Women’s Doubles, the 2015 Korea Open Champions Nitya Krishinda Maheswari-Greysia Polii have withdrawn due to Maheswari’s knee surgery. The Duo, who won the women’s doubles title at the Incheon Asian Games will be replaced by Malaysian duo, Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei, who were next on the list of eligible qualifiers in the Destination Dubai Rankings.
