#EuroWinnersCup: Portsmouth Ladies defeat ASD Lady Terracina 5-3

In the starter of Group B, Portsmouth Ladies made sure that late strikes by the rival team don’t change the results table. In a match which was initially their favor the opponent ASD Lady Terracina scored three goals late in the match but couldn’t stir a chance coz the Pompey were well set with their goal hitting by then.

Pompey’s Widdowson missed a penalty which allowed the goalkeeper Quinn to level the score in the full of action first period.

Both the team displayed attacking strategy after the break but Clarke scored to take Pompey forward.

Following up the goal from Clarke was Hillier who ensured the lead were extended further just before the teams went onto an end-to-end final third period, when Pisa and Maiorca tried to upset the rhythm of game.

The two goals couldn’t do more than just bringing about nervousness amongst the supporters of Pompey, as by then the Portsmouth Ladies had sealed the game.
