The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), today, announced Indian team for World Cup Stage events for 2018.
The ISSF World Cup is an annual shooting event was introduced by the International Shooting Sport Federation in 1986. Following the invitation of the IOC, the ISSF developed an Olympic qualification system. The ISSF established a new series of World Cups, included these in the Olympic qualifying system, and recognized scores fired in World Cups as World Records.
The first ISSF World Cup Rifle and Pistol was held in Mexico City, Mexico in March 1986 followed by the first ISSF World Cup Shotgun set in Montecatini, Italy, in April 1986.
In 2018 there would be total 4 Stages for the Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun which will start in March.
The selection committee in its meeting held on 29th January 2018 has selected the teams for participation in following International Competitions 2018:
Indian shooters performed well in the last edition and managed to win six medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze) at all World Cup stages.
