Andhra Pradesh has given some renowned names to International cricket like Venkatapathy Raju, Mohammad Azharuddin & VVS Laxman from the two domestic cricket teams from the state. Ambati Rayudu
The Guntur born right handed batsman Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu made his domestic cricket debut with Hyderabad Cricket team in 2002 and would go on to captain the ICC U-19 World Cup squad of India. It was this India U-19 team that Robin Uthappa, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, RP Singh, Suresh Raina & VRV Singh came from. Rayudu was among the players who have played both for ICL and later on for IPL. He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010 and was part of this franchise during 2010-2017.
In Indian Premier League 2018, Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings picked Ambati Rayudu to be part of their squad and he’s been part of the MA Chidambaram stadium based side since then. Rayudu, thus, features among the top Andhra Players in IPL 2021
Mohammed Siraj
The Hyderabad born pace bowler Mohammed Siraj first played for Hyderabad Cricket team in 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. Siraj would go on to be the highest wicket-taker for his team, Hyderabad, in the next Ranji season. This performance meant he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL 2017 auctions.
Siraj picked 10 wickets from the 6 matches he played in the tournament edition and was picked by Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2018. Mohammed Siraj, has been part of the Bengaluru based side since then as he features among the Andhra Players in IPL 2021.
Maramreddy Harishankar Reddy, Kanumuri Bhagath Varma and Kona Srikar Bharat are other cricketers who represent Andhra Players in IPL 2021. These were the Andhra Pradesh Cricketers who made to Indian Premier League 2021, with Siraj and Rayudu among the established names while other three working towards reaching there.
