Paris: Ace Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy emphatically entered the semi-finals of the French Open Super Series in singles competition on Friday.
Kidambi Srikanth, the Denmark Open champion who has been in red hot form of late eyes his fourth Super Series title of the year as he registered a comeback victory over China Shi Yuqi.
The Indian was outplayed in the first set but came back strong and hard to win the match 8-21, 21-19 and 21-9 and progress to the semi-final.
HS Prannoy in the other hand decimated South Korea’s Jeon Hyeok-jin 21-16 21-16 to set up a semi-final clash against countryman Srikanth in what promises to be an absolute cracker of an encounter.
Although Srikanth is 2-1 ahead on the head-to-head tally, it would take a huge effort to defeat Prannoy who is enjoying a good run of form.
In the women’s singles category, second seeded Sindhu thoroughly outplayed Chen Yufei of China 21-14 21-14 to register a win in a 40-minute clash and make it to the last four in the competition.
