Hero Indian Women’s League saw goal-galore on Thursday as Sethu FC Thrash BBK DAV in their Group A tie. With this win, they got their league campaign back on track.
Sethu FC, who are the defending champions, lost against Krypsha FC in their previous outing. But today the Madurai based team displayed change of character as they decimated their opponents.

When the match started, no one could believe that it was the same outfit which lost against Krypsha FC. Such was the match which saw two quickfire goals from Sandhiya and K. Sumithra. They decided the fate of this match with these two initial goals. Sethu got a two-goal cushion inside 18 minutes to build the match on.

And they did it convincingly. Sandhiya caught a loose ball inside the 18-yard box to make it 3-0. With this score Sethu went into the break. This was Sandhiya’s second goal of the match.
Coming off the break, the intensity didn’t mellow down for the Sethu girls. In came Karthika’s left-footed drive to 4-0 in the 50th minute. Sumithra’s second came soon after, in which she went past five BBK defenders to make it 5-0. The second half saw 6 goals meaning a goal per 7.5 minutes.

The first hat-trick of the match happened in the 81st minute, credited to Sandhiya’s kitty. Scores read 6-0 with this hit past goalie. Karthika made it 7-0 with an audacious chip from outside the box. Substitute Kunti Kumari made it 8-0 after she was fed on goal by Sandhiya.
And then Karthika joined the hat-trick club via an 89th minute corner. This was the final score as Sethu FC annihilated their opponents who couldn’t even score once.
