The Camp Nou based team would finish second in the team table winning 18, losing 7 and drawing 9 matches in the season and qualify for the UEFA Cup first round. Barcelona would score 69 goals, while they would concede 34 goals in the tournament edition as they’d have the highest goal difference.

Former Rosario Central Footballer Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi would go on to score 24 goals for Valencia Club de Fútbol during the Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División 1976-77 tournament. With these goals, the Argentine Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in La Liga 1976-77, in fact leading the list. His team would finish seventh in the team table of the tournament winning 13, losing 11 & drawing 10. Mestalla based Valencia Club de Fútbol would score 53 goals while they concede 47 goals in the tournament edition.
