Profile | Nathan Lyon is an Australian International cricketer, who plays for the national Australian team since 2011. He is an off-spin bowler and occasionally bats as a lower-order batsman. He used to represent the New South Wales squad at domestic level. Lyon was born in Young city of New South Wales in 1987 and started his cricket career since his teenage. At the domestic level, he used to play for ACT Cricket in U-17 and U-18 teams. He has also played some other school-level cricket series at that time and gradually came under the guidance of coach Mark Higgs. After spending several training years under this skilled coach, Lyon was moved to Adelaide and has played some more domestic matches for Australia A team. It was Australian Twenty20 coach Darren Berry who has witnessed the beauty of spin in Lyon’s bowling and gave him a golden chance performing in KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. After this, Nathan Lyon was selected for the Australian test team in 2011 and starts spreading the charm of his off-break blowing style in cricket. Depending on the statement of Lyon, it was his coach Mark Higgs, who helped him to sharpen his expertise in spin bowling. Lyon is known for being an expert in his accurate bowling action and knowing the exact tactical side counting proper line of bowling. Lyon is considered one of the senior players of the team and mostly plays for the long format of the game. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) (Profile Image from Facebook) |
