Profile | Rahi Sarnobat is an Indian female shooter, who represents India internationally since 2008. She is an Asian Games as well as Commonwealth Games gold medalist and competes in the 25 meters pistol event. She is one only female individual Asian Games gold medalist so far in shooting category and also a record-maker with a scoring point of 34. Rahi began her training of shooting from an early and took this field professionally since 2007. In 2008, she made her international debut officially through the Commonwealth Youth Games and a clinched a gold medal in that championship. Considering world champion Tejaswini Sawant as her inspiration, she kept her practice on uninterruptedly at this time. Her hard-work paid her back shortly and she won two gold medals at the 2010 Commonwealth games. In 2011, Rahi got a bronze medal in the ISSF World Cup and got selected for the 2012 London Olympics instantly. In 2013, she took part in ISSF World Cup, where she clutched a gold medal and became the first Indian pistol shooter to do so. The winning trail of this Maharashtrian girl kept running in 2014 as well when she bagged a bronze medal in Commonwealth Games and a gold medal in Asian Games. In 2018 she made another record by winning gold at the Jakarta Palembang in Asian Games in women’s 25m pistol. Currently she’s preparing herself for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
