Profile | Smriti Mandhana is an Indian international cricketer, who plays for the national women’s cricket team of India since 2013. She is one of the most successful batswomen of this country, who achieved numerous honors and achievements from the world for her brilliant contribution to this sport. Mandhana started playing cricket since her school days and appeared in several district-level matches during her domestic days. She started playing professionally at the age of 9 with the Maharashtra Under-15 team. After playing a few successful innings at the domestic level, she entered the national women’s team in 2013 and made her international debut through T20I match. Her double-century in a one-day game at the domestic-level accelerated her international debut. She made her ODI debut in the same month but test debut one year later against England. She played in the World Cup squad in 2017 and was included for the squad of Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in 2018. Mandhana also led the national women squad as a captain for a couple of months at the T20I format and became the youngest player to do so.
