CWC 1983 is the 1983 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup. ICC Cricket World Cup is the highest level competition in 50 overs cricket (One Day Internationals).
The format is 10 team competition format. The selection process of teams for the Cricket World cup is such that the top eight teams in the ICC one-day rankings at approximately 18 months prior qualify automatically. Remaining two teams come from the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier which takes place a year prior to the Cricket World Cup.
During the World Cup, all teams play each other in a full round robin format with the top four teams progressing to the semi-finals and the winners contesting for the title in final.
