Mumbai: It’s the second anniversary of one of the most successful as well as viral mission’s of India launched by the government and on this occasion the stars of cricket who carries the potential of influencing masses to a great extent came up with their efforts, to add more in #MyCleanIndia mission.
On the sidelines of the second Test against New Zealand, Indian Test Cricket captain Virat Kohli and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur on Sunday swept the stands at Eden Gardens, Kolkata as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Moreover, it is also seen as one of the ways to celebrate Bappu’s birthday and making his free country, free from impurities too.
Kohli, who missed his 13th Test international fifty by 2 runs, was joined by Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and Chesteshwar Pujara. They extended their support in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness drive towards Clean India.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (English: Clean India Mission), abbreviated as SBA or SBM, is a national campaign by the Government of India, covering 4,041 statutory cities and towns, to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country.
The campaign was officially launched on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive and 3 million government employees and school and college students of India participated in this event.
