Sanatombi Chanu Leimapokpam and Bidyashwori Chanu Khaidem finished 10th and 11th in the Women’s Taolu-Taijijian event at the 14th Wushu World Championship, Kazan 2017.
Sanatombi who won Gold medal for India at the 2016 South Asian Games, scored 9.18 points and secured 10th spot. Compatriot Bidyashwori was just behind her teammate and scored 9.15 points to secure 11th place.
The Gold medal of the event was won by Hong Kong’s Suijin Chen with 9.68 points. Vietnam’s Khanh Ly Tran Thi and Japan’s Shiho Saito won silver and bronze respectively with 9.55 and 9.53 points.
Taijijian is an event using the Jian based on traditional Taijiquan jian methods. The sword used by players is a straight two-edged sword used in the training of the Chinese martial art Taijiquan routine.
