Indian pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been picked up for the remaining matches of the ongoing Test series between India and England
Mumbai: The panel of Indian Team selectors has asked bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar to return to the team squad for finishing the remaining Test matches of the ongoing series against England.
Gautam Gambhir who will be vacating the position for Kumar, who’s entry and return is confirmed, was initially replaced for KL Rahul during the 2nd match of the series, in Vizag. Though the position of the rest of the 15 members in the team remains unchanged.
However Gambhir’s second innings performance in Rajkot eventually led him being dropped in favour of KL Rahul for the second Test in Visakhapatnam.
Currently the Indian side is led by skipper Virat Kohli, teamed up with Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain, with KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, amongst others Bhuvneshwar had taken down five wickets, during New Zealand’s 1st innings during the 2nd Test in Kolkata. While he was later ruled out of the next in Indore due to a back strain he picked up.
While Gambhir, scored 29 and 50 respectively in his two innings during the 3rd match against New Zealand. The 3rd Test is scheduled to take place in Mohali from the 26th till the 30th of November, later on towards the 4th in Mumbai from the 8th of December.
The concluding match of the series will be held in Chennai from the 16th of December 16 in Chennai.
