Dhaka: Playing against Bangladesh in both Men’s and Women’s leg of the tournament, India won both the finals which were scheduled today at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in Dhaka.
It was an interesting scene at the finals as both India and Bangladesh were pitted against each other after winning their respective semifinals.
In the men’s final, India scored a comfortable win beating hosts Bangladesh 46-25. India started the match evenly against Bangladesh but the visitors gradually drove themselves to the driving seat with their technical and tactical game-play and it was all these key features that at the end of the first half, India were leading 20-10.
And this was it, as Bangladesh never came back in the match after this lead during the half time. In the second half, India took full control on the match to finish the match as the champions.
In the women’s leg of the tournament also, India won the title with a 48-29 victory over the hosts in the final. The tourists were leading 26-7 in the first half, and didn’t allow the home team to come back to trouble India.
Monika was the top scorer with eight goals for India.
