Ahmedabad: It was the last match of the super Sunday between Kenya and Japan that turned out to be game changer. It was raining super tackle for Kenya when they manage to silence Japan by 48-27. James Obilo from Kenya was unstoppable in tackles as he scored the maximum tackle points of a match at this tournament.
Kenya played with a strategy and didn’t let Japan score in the first five minutes. This gave Kenya psychological advantage over Japan and from then it became difficult for Japan to make a comeback into the match. With this win Pool B standings are very interesting now. While Iran is at the top and already qualified for semi-final rest of the team are still struggling.
With today’s win Kenya is moved to third position behind Iran and Thailand. The next match between Kenya and Thailand will be a do or die one as whosoever wins will qualifies for the semi-final. A lot is happening in Pool B while in Pool A teams are much settled.
In the previous two matches Thailand beat USA by 69 points to 22 and Rep of Korea made comfortable win against England with 56-17 points margin. There are two matches to be played tomorrow Iran Vs Poland and Australia Vs Bangladesh. It is guaranteed that Iran will make comfortable win against Poland, play with their bench giving rest to first seven and in next match between Bangladesh & Aussies it could be one sided.
Day 12 (Tuesday 18th October) will be very crucial day for the Kabaddi World Cup. USA Vs Kenya and India Vs England will be held on that day. If Kenya defeat USA by big margin than they can make it to the semi-finals while India must settle their first seven as apart from Manjit Chillar no one seems to be in form. If India makes to the semi-final they will face Iran and that match could turn to be like final.
