Today we discuss about the only three cricketers who represent Afghanistan players in IPL 2021. Afghanistan has been playing in India and Dehradun based Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex has been their home ground. So, they’re not strangers to Indian conditions and some exquisite performances have got three of the Afghanistan players in IPL 2021, apparently all of these are part of Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the season.
Mohammad Nabi
The Afghan all-rounder has been one of the key members of the Asian country’s national team. Mohammad Nabi is a decent middle/lower order batsman and an off break bowler. He’s still to rule the Indian Premier League tournament though as this all-rounder has been playing it since 2017 with his best performances, in the four edition he was part of, came in 2019 when he picked 8 wickets from 8 matches and scored 115 runs with a 30+ score. Nabi will be one of the Afghanistan players in IPL 2021, as he was retained by the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium based side for the tournament edition.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman
The Afghan all-rounder is one of the young cricketers to join international cricket. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Zadran is a decent spin bowler who can bowl both off & leg spin. He’s still in early days of his IPL career though as this bowler has been playing it since 2018 with his best performances, in the three edition he was part of, came in 2018 when he picked 14 wickets from 11 matches. Rahman will be one of the Afghanistan players in IPL 2021, as he was picked by the David Warner led IPL franchise during the auctions for the tournament edition.
Rashid Khan
The Afghan leg spinner has been a revelation since he was first spotted in international cricket. Rashid Khan is a nice leg spinner who has ruled the Indian Premier League tournament since 2017 when he debuted in the tournament. The Ace Spinner picked 17 wickets in 2017, 21 wickets in 2018, 17 in 2019 and 20 in 2020 season and will continue to front-lead the Afghanistan players in IPL 2021, as he was retained by the Hyderabad based side for the tournament edition.
These were the three Afghan cricketers who made to the Indian Premier League 2021 season, through the auctions. This is it for today! Hope your liked the content; don’t forget to put in your thoughts & questions as comments.
