Lausanne: In their latest, IOC has sanctioned 17 athletes from Beijing and London Olympics for failing anti-doping tests. Out of these, eight athletes from London 2012 and nine from Beijing 2008.

The additional analyses on samples collected during the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 and London 2012 were performed with improved analytical methods, in order to possibly detect prohibited substances that could not be identified by the analysis performed at the time of these editions of the Olympic Games.
International Federations: to modify the results of the above-mentioned event accordingly and to consider any further action within their own competence.
National Olympic Committees: to ensure full implementation of this decision and to secure the return to the IOC, as soon as possible, of the medal, medallist’s pin and diploma awarded.
In addition, disciplinary proceedings against Besik Kudukhov, of Russia, who competed in the men’s 60kg freestyle wrestling event in which he ranked 2nd and for which he was awarded a silver medal at the Olympic Games London 2012, have been filed.
The decisions were taken by the IOC Disciplinary Commission, composing for this case of Mr Denis Oswald (Chairman), Mrs Gunilla Lindberg and Mr Ugur Erdener. The additional analyses on samples collected during the past two Olympic Games were performed with improved analytical methods, in order to possibly detect prohibited substances that could not be identified by the analysis performed at the time of these editions of the Olympic Games.
