The Lankans made 313 runs for 7 wickets loss after chasing 312 runs against Zimbabwe at New Plymouth. Chasing a mammoth total the Sri Lankan batsmen started well with their openers Roshan Mahanama and Athula Samarasekera registering a partnership of 128 runs. Mahanama scored 75 runs while Samarasekera made a brisk 75 from just 61 deliveries.
