Miku scored the lone goal as Bengaluru FC edged past defending champions Chennaiyin 1-0 in their Indian Super League at the Sree Krantirava stadium on Sunday.
The starting format for the Bengaluru FC was 4-2-3-1. The formation allowed new signings- Albert Serran and Xisco Hernandez earning- to earn their Indian Super League (ISL) debuts.

Chennaiyin FC also lined up in the same format. Isaac Vanmalsawma filled in for the injured Dhanpal Ganesh. While new signing Brazilian Eli Sabia partnered Mailson Alves in defence for the team, Jeje Lalpekhlua & Gregory Nelson positioned up front.
In the third minute, Bengaluru came close to scoring through Erik Paartalu. They had started on the front foot putting pressure on the Chennaiyin FC.

Chennaiyin seemed to exploit the flanks. But the men in blue looked vulnerable at the back. After Nelson and Jeje combined to create a one-on-one opportunity inside the box, Chennaiyin looked to have a scope for a goal. To the surprise of the audience, the Mizo Snipper sent the ball wide.
As the game matured, both the teams seemed to refuse any risk. Udanta Singh lacked end product while Jeje failed on the capitalization of lapses.

Miku then latched on the ball despite looking to be marginally off-side, his rifled a shot into the net.
The second half started with more possession from the visitors. The first talking point of the second half came in the 57th minute when Jerry Lalzrinzuala brought down Udanta Singh and picked up a yellow for the team. Miku, Xisco, and Udanta weaved in such a way that Chhetri couldn’t cultivate a strike.
