The Thane born right handed batsman Suryakumar Yadav played his first domestic cricket match for Mumbai in 2010, and in 2012 he was picked by Mumbai Indians during the season’s auction. Yadav wouldn’t get much of chances in the season as he would just get a debut match, 2013 he wouldn’t get any match. In 2014, Surya was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders and there the cricketer would grow on to be one of their key members in playing XI.
Yadav would be back with MI in 2018 and has been part of the team since then as he features among the top Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021. Surya has expressed with bat and expressed well, something which has got him his international cricket break in 2020-21 season.
The Nagpur born pace bowler Umesh Yadav made his debut in domestic cricket for Vidarbha in the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy. He was picked by the the Delhi Daredevils during IPL 2010 auctions. Yadav, since then, has been part of the T20 tournament as he has picked 10 or more wickets in all the seasons except 2011, 2019 & 2020. During his IPL career, Umesh has played for Kolkata Knight Riders & Royal Challengers Bangalore as well and he is currently part of the Delhi Capitals squad. Yadav, thus, is among the Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021.
The Palghar born medium pace bowler Shardul Thakur first played for Mumbai in 2012–13 Ranji Trophy and he would debut in Indian Premier League in 2015 with Kings XI Punjab. Thakur was part of the Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017 before moving over to Chennai Super Kings in 2018. The medium pacer has, since then, been part of the MA Chidambaram stadium based side as he features in the list of Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021. Thakur has picked 10 or more wickets in three out of 5 complete seasons he has played in the tournament.
Another cricketer who has played U-19 cricket for India and looks destined to go long in International cricket, Prithvi Shaw started his domestic career with Mumbai in 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Originally from Gaya in Bihar, Shaw had to move to Mumbai to pursue his cricket career due to minimal or non-existent cricket facilities in Bihar. Prithvi Shaw was picked by the Delhi Capitals during IPL 2018 auctions and the cricketer, since then, has been part of this franchise. Shaw, thus, features the Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021, coming from Mumbai cricket team.
The Dashing Cricketer started with Mumbai in 2006–07 Ranji Trophy, Rohit Sharma would be picked by the Adam Gilchrist led Deccan Chargers in the inaugural edition and Sharma, since then, has been part of this league tournament, though he moved to Mumbai Indians in 2011. Rohit Sharma has, since then, been part of this franchise as he features among the top Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021. Sharma has not only become the top batsmen from the league, but has been the most successful captain as well.
Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are among other cricketers who represent Maharashtra Players in IPL 2021.
