Jimmy would also score a hat-trick during the season, against Tottenham Hotspur. The Stamford Bridge based team would go on to win 17, losing 13 & drawing 8 to finish 6th in the team table & qualify for UEFA Cup first round.

Former Southampton Footballer, Alan Shearer, would score 23 goals for the Newcastle United team during the 2001–02 tournament. With these goals, the England footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in Premier League 2001–02. His team would win 21, lose 9 & draw 8 from the season to finish fourth and hence they qualified to Champions League third qualifying round.
2. Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United)
The Manchester United Footballer, Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooy, played for the club during 2001–2006. Former PSV Striker Nistelrooy would score 23 goals for his team during the 2001–02 tournament. With these goals, the former Den Bosch Footballer got himself among the footballers with the most goals in Premier League 2001–02. His scores included a hat-trick against Southampton during the season. His team would win 24, lose 9 & draw 5to finish 3rd in the team table as they’d qualify for Champions League third qualifying round.
