Anwar scored two centuries consecutively, first against Zimbabwe and next-one against New Zealand in the semi-final match. It helped Pakistan to enter into the final match against Australia. Mark Waugh– Australia
Mark Waugh was nicknamed as Junior, because he was younger by few minutes than his twin brother captain Steve Waugh. Both Steve & Mark played cricket from early age and played all formats of games for Australia. Mark had scored 83 against India and made 104 off 120 balls against Zimbabwe.

Sourav Ganguly – India
Affectionately known as Dada, the left-handed attacking batsman Sourav Ganguly was one of the most successful opening batsmen having made 25 century-partnerships with Sachin Tendulkar. Ganguly is also known as God of off side because of his elegant stroke play on the off side.
In the World Cup ’99, he made 183 runs of 158 balls against Sri Lanka which was the highest individual score by an Indian and added 318 runs which was then the highest partnership in ODI, with Rahul Dravid. Steve Waugh – Australia
Mark Waugh was the most successful captain of Australia in both test & ODI format of the game. The right-handed batsman could easily manipulate the game with his ability to bat under any situation. Waugh made a timely hundred against South Africa that had helped his team to enter in Super Six phase and it was the turning point for Australia during the tournament.
He boosted Australian chances of winning the World Cup for the second time when he scored 398 runs in the tournament. Among the top 2 of the most runs at Cricket World Cup 1999.
Rahul Dravid – India
Hailed as the Wall, Rahul Dravid became the top scorer of the tournament while scoring two back-to-back hundreds. Dravid earlier kept wickets in place of injured wicket-keeper in the match against Sri Lanka and later he put-on 318 runs record-breaking partnership with Sourav Ganguly.

Dravid’s both the innings – 104* against Kenya and 145 against Sri Lanka gave India a good start at the beginning in the tournament and helped his team to enter into the super six level.
