ATK in their second home match against NorthEast United FC puts up a drab show at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata today.
Two minutes from the regulation time Rowllin Borgess scored to bring up the 1-0 victory against a 10- man ATK.
The starting lineup was kept same by Steve Coppell as for the opener against Kerala Blasters. Schattorie was also found to acknowledge his first experiment against FC Goa except for replacing Robert Lalthlamuana for injured Keegan Pereira in the left-back position.
The first half didn’t witness any goal-scoring chance from both ends. After the half an hour mark Sena Ralte got engaged into an ugly challenge with Nikhil which reduced ATK to 10 men.
Sena Ralte for earning two yellow cards- one in the 19th minute and the other in the 32nd minute earned the red of the night. Pronoy Halder showered his love for cards early from the kickoff in the 9th minute. Jayesh Rane had to be sacrificed for his former colleague from Aizawl FC, Ricky Lallawmawma. Another card for ATK was earned with an ease by Manuel Lanzarote at the 74th minute when Kalu Uche was finally positioned on the field. Lanzarote was in a too friendly mood for such a situation.
NEUFC made their first chance to lead with the failed operation of the Nigerian, Bartholomew Ogbeche to convert the low cross from Redeem Tlang. With the whistling of the second match, schattorie changed the formation. And Coppell’s men were seen to protect their net.
The Highlanders persistence in the attacking third paid off at the 89th minute with Rowlins header straight into the net of the hosts. Being down with a man, it was heartbreaking for ATK to be placed in the last of the points table.
