Profile | Andrew Robertson is one of the best left-backs on the circuit at the moment, playing for Liverpool FC, a Champions League winner in 2018-19 and also captains the Scotland national team, an honor that he managed to achieve at an incredibly young age. Robertson is a truly well traveled player, having played at Queen’s Park, Dundee United and Hull City before he was snapped up by Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool in 2017-18. In his first full season under the German coach, Robertson enthralled all with his mazy runs down the left, incredible passing abilities and stunning optimism to take on one-on-one situations. With Trent Alexander Arnold bombarding down the right flank, Robertson formed one of the most vicious full-back pairing in the Premier League. Robertson managed to rake up 11 assists in the 2018-19 season, an incredible feat for a defender who also was rock solid while defending. Liverpool fell short of the Premier League title by a solitary point to Manchester City but more than made up for the disappointment with their showings in the Champions League. They swept aside the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspurs en route to European glory.
Andrew Robertson looks like a long-term solution to the left-back position at Anfield. He has earned his place in such an elite team and group with his showings reflected with experiences he gained during his loan stints with Hull City and Dundee United. With the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold and Joel Matip to partner in defense, Liverpool have a strong backline that is ready to go the distance and win major honors in the years to come.
