Profile | Anish Bhanwala is an Indian shooter, who represents India Internationally since 2017. He is specialized in 25 meters rapid fire pistol, standard pistol, and 25 meters pistol event equally at such a young age. He has had an interest in shooting since her childhood and started taking training from a very early age to give his passion a chance to become his career. In 2013, Bhanwala took part in Under 12 Modern Pentathlon World Championship and began his shooting career officially. In the Asian Modern Pentathlon Championship 2015, he has shown his high improvement and got full support from his parents to become a professional shooter since then. His father used to borrow a pistol to his school at a range in Karnal, just to keep his shooting practice consistent. In 2017, he took part in ISSF Junior World Championship and set a world record of scoring 579 points in the 25 meters pistol shooting. Bhanwala has bagged two gold, two silver and one bronze medals in that championship. He took part in Commonwealth Shooting Championship in the same year and clinched a silver medal in the 25m rapid fire men’s event. In the very next year, Bhanwala won a gold medal in 2018 Commonwealth Games. With this win, Bhanwala became the youngest Indian athlete to win gold in Commonwealth Games at the Men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event.
