Profile | Ashley Nurse is a Barbadian cricketer, who plays for the national cricket team of West Indies since 2011. He appears in shorter formats of the game and plays for limited-over matches only like ODI and T20Is. Ashley Nurse represents Barbados cricket team in all three formats of domestic level like first-class, List A, and Twenty20. He is a middle-order right-arm off-spin bowler and occasionally bats as a lower-order right-hand batsman. He used to play cricket in age-groups and started grabbing highlights, after making his List-A debut in domestic circuit. In 2007, Ashley has played for Guyana team in a List-A cricket tournament and came into the notice of cricket experts for his stable as well as balanced innings. After this, Ashley kept on his good bowling in the other domestic tournaments similarly for the next 3-4 years uninterruptedly. As a result, he got enlisted for the national squad of West Indies in 2011 and made his international debut through a T20I match. Unfortunately, he had failed to carry his domestic success in the international meadow and kept unutilized for the Caribbean squad in several matches. It was the hard work and determination of this West Indian spinner that gave him the chance again in the international field in 2016 in ODI format. Ashley didn’t waste this opportunity and became a regular member of the national team since then. He was named for the team of West Indies for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
