Profile | Carolina Marin is a Spanish professional badminton player, who starts playing internationally since 2005. She is a former No. 1 in BWF World Rankings, and currently holds the 6th position. She has been holding the rank of No. 1 for 66 weeks, which is a record itself for any top-level badminton start so far. She is a reigning Olympic gold medalist and holds a glorious career stat in other world championships as well along with Olympics. Gonzalo Marin is a three-time world champion and four-time European champion in women’s singles. She started playing badminton from the age of eight and started feeling deep affection to this sport with her each attempt. She turned pro in 2005 and came into the limelight after winning a silver medal in European Junior Championship in 2009. She made a record in European Junior Championship 2011 with her partner Beatriz Corrales and clinched the gold medal for Spain successfully. After 2 years, she became the first Spanish badminton player to win a Grand Prix Gold title in August 2013 and made her percentage even stronger to win the next big championship titles in the upcoming years. In 2014, she won the BWF World Championships singles title for the very first time and began her journey to the golden era of winning since then.
