Profile | Dipika Pallikal is an Indian professional squash player, who plays for internationally for India since 2006. She is one of the most noted new-age squash female players of India, who won the WISPA tour titles in her career. She is the first-ever Indian female squash player to be ranked into the top 10 rankings in the Women’s Squash Ranking by the PSA. She started playing squash at the age of 10 and became a pro during her school days. Dipika made her international debut when she was in class six only and swiftly became a professional squash player at the age of 15. She has appeared at the European Junior Squash Circuit with the Under-19 squash team and became a matter of attraction by 2011 for her back-to-back WISPA world tour wins. She became an integral part of the Indian national squash team since 2012 for her achievements in Summit Clash and the Australian Open. In 2014, she made India proud by clinching the first Commonwealth Games gold medal at the women’s doubles with Joshna Chinappa. In 2016, she led the Indian squash team to win their first gold medal at the Asian Games and also bagged the Australian Open title in the same following year. Besides an international squash player, she is a professional model and even walked the ramp for the Lakme Fashion Week successfully in 2014. She has some flourishing cover photo shoots for the famous Femina Tamil Magazine and Verve India Magazine in her modeling career. She is married to the Indian international cricketer Dinesh Karthik. |
