Profile | Divij Sharan is a professional tennis player from India and represents his country internationally since 2004. He is an Asian Games gold medalist and specializes in the doubles category. Divij has a glorious career stat in ATP World Tour championship, where he won 4 ATP Tour titles till date in the men’s doubles event. He started playing tennis at the age of 7 and went to local tennis training academy for his primary training. He began his junior career in 2003 and has appeared in the Grand Slam Junior Championship in doubles event. His brilliant performances in junior level rewarded him with the world ranking of 5 in his starting year. After this, he began his senior career in 2004 and won his first ever Future Doubles title in 2007. Within just 4 years, Divij won almost 16 ITF titles along with 1 ATP challenger title. In 2013, Divij bagged his first ever ATP World Tour title and entered in the list of top 100 doubles ranking players for his consistency. In the very next year, he clinched a bronze medal for India at the Asian Games and achieved 2 ATP World Tour titles among 4 finals. His good form in 2016 competitions helped Divij to enter the top 50 list of tennis players in the world ranking in early 2017 and finally gave him his career-best ranking 38 in 2018 for his contribution in Asian Games as well and Grand Slam tournament.
