Profile | Mohammad Imran Tahiris a South African cricketer and used to represent the Hollywoodbets Dolphins team atthe domestic level. He was born in 1979 at Lahore in Pakistan and gradually moved to South Africa after a few years. He started his domestic cricket career with Pakistan Under-19 team and played for Pakistan A squad as well for a couple of years. Unfortunately, he failed to make his impression in domestic level but shone at his best when moved and selected for the U-19 South African team. Imran Tahir is a right-arm leg spinner, a skilled one who mostly bowls goalies. He got the opportunities to prove his bowling skill after playing the domestic matches for five years in SA. Imran Tahir got his first big chance in November 2011 in a test series against Australia. Since then, he has owned a permanent place in test squad of South Africa till 2015. He, however, continued his international cricket career in the limited overs formats of ODI and T20I. This 40 years old South African player occasionally bats as well with right hand and bowls in right-arm leg break. He gradually became one of the world’s top bowlers in the shortest format with his extraordinary bowling skills. Currently, this skilled South African bowler is playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2019 tournament. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) |
