Profile | Joe Root is an English International cricketer, who plays for the national England team since 2012. He captains the England Test team and currently plays for all formats of the game. He represents the Yorkshire team at domestic level and occasionally bowls the England national squad as well. Joe Root is an occasional off-spinner, who bowls as right-armed off-break as well as right-armed leg break bowler. He has a perfect cricketer background with his elder brother Billy and started his training career at a very young age from school level. After playing a few school-level tournaments, Joe Root has got first chance to play a domestic big match in Yorkshire Academy in 2007. With the impactful innings, he became the player of the tournament and got an opportunity to enter in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. After giving a wonderful performance in this tournament and playing fairly in Adelaide league with Darren Lehmann Academy, he got a chance in the national team as well. He has got his first international break in 2012 through a test match against India. With a reliable performance in both innings of this first test match, Root made his place permanent in the team. Then he gradually made his ODI and T20I debut consequently in the international field and became one of the most significant players of the team in all formats. In 2017, he declared the captain of the England test squad and gradually became a consistent top-ordered batsman of the team as well. After making numbers of records and achieving a range of achievements, Joe Root enlisted himself in the England squad successfully in ICC World Cup 2019.
