Profile | Kannaur Lokesh Rahul, who is mostly known as KL Rahul is an Indian international cricketer. He is considered one of the top-order batsmen of the team and occasionally keeps the wicket in some international matches as well. KL Rahul was born in Mangalore of the state Karnataka in 1992 and has started his cricket career at a very young age of 11. At the beginning of his domestic cricket career, he used to represent the team of Karnataka and played for the ICC Under-19 team. Lokesh Rahul came to the limelight for the very first time, when he has scored 143 runs in the ICC U-19 World Cup team. This 27 years old south Indian cricketer has made his place as the top-rated batsman of the national team with his skilled batting style. He was guided by an ideal mentor Rahul Dravid, an A-ranked former Indian cricketer for several years. He has some unique batting style such as airtight technique, dogged resistance, unimpeachable focus, etc. Like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul also was suspended by the BCCI for a few ODI matches for his controversy in an Indian talk show ‘Koffee- with Karan’. Currently, he is playing for the Kings XI Punjab team in IPL 2019 tournament. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) (Profile Image from Facebook) |
