Profile | Laura Muir is a British athlete, who plays as a middle-distance sprinter since 2010. She specializes in the running court of 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m in track. Currently, she holds the rank in top 20 world’s best middle-distance runners of all-time. She started her sprinter career since her school days and took participate in 400m hurdles during the beginning days of her domestic career. After giving her best in school-level championships, she appeared in European Cross-country Championship in 2010 and shone for the very first time. She led the junior women team of Great Britain to win gold in that tournament and became the youngest athlete by Daily Record at the end of that year. After this, she took part in all athletics competition like Olympics, Commonwealth, world championships, indoor championship, European championships, etc. Currently, she holds the rank of no 1 in the world’s women 1500m running history with 1379 points. Muir keeps her win consecutively in European Athletics Indoor Championship for 2017 and 2019 with her dedication. Apart from a professional athletic, Muir studied veterinary medicine in her college course from the University of Glasgow and has an interest in this field due to the influence of her fellow teammate Hayley Haining.
