Mohammed Shami is an Indian international cricketer, who represents Bengal team in domestic cricket and plays in the national team since 2013. Shami is a right-armed fast-medium swing and seam bowler, who can bowl with an approximate speed of 140km per hour.
He is one of the potent fast blowers of the team and has got his training from Badruddin Siddique. He was born in a rural place of Utter Pradesh in 1990 and has started his professional training session at the age of 15. At the beginning of his career, Shami was played for the Dalhousie Athletic Club of Kolkata.
He was selected for the U-22 team of Bengal first time for his impressing bowling order and then picked for the Bengal Ranji squad in 2010. His international cricket career took a boost when he was selected for the ODI series against Pakistan in 2013.
He became a favorite bowler of ICC team selectors after witnessing his skilled bowling skill in domestic matches. Shami has some highly appreciable bowling statistics like seam-up delivery, reverse-swing, decent control on dukes and kookaburra balls, etc. Currently, he played for the Kings XI Punjab team in the IPL 2019 tournament.
