Profile | Shreyasi Singh is an Indian International shooter, who started representing India internationally since 2010. She is double trap specialist and a gold medalist in Commonwealth Games. Shreyasi belongs to a family with a shooting background, as her grandfather and father both are former presidents of NRA of India in their lifetime. She started taking shooting training from her teenage but became the part of Indian national team in 2013 at the Trap Shooting World Cup, where she ended up at the 15th position. Shreyasi began her international career professionally as an individual shooter in 2010 through the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi. In 2014 Commonwealth Games, she won her first international medal and bagged a silver medal with 92 glorious points. At the Asian Games championship in the same following year, she bagged a bronze medal in the double Trap team event. In 2017, Shreyasi represented her native place Bihar in the 61st National Shooting Championship and won a gold medal in double trap event. After this, her wait for a gold medal finally fulfilled in 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, where she successfully clinched gold with her team in the double trap event. According to her coach, she worked very hard to won this gold and has changed her techniques as well as her zeal to steal this long-awaited achievement. Apart from a good shooter, Shreyasi has a huge interest in politics and stated that if she wasn’t a shooter then she would have become a politician due to the influence of her political family.
