He has played for the Under-19 team of Bangladesh in Under-19 Cricket World Cup in both 2010 and 2012 tournaments. In a 2012 U-19 World Cup match, he ran out the noted Australian batsman Jimmy Peirson and came into the limelight instantly. After this, he got a call for the national cricket team of Bangladesh in 2013 for T20 squad and then, made his international debut in 2014 through an ODI match. He made his T20I as well as Test debut consecutively in April 2015 and became a permanent member of the national team since then.
