Roop Singh was more known as the younger brother of legendary Dhyan Chand, but he also is rated among the greatest field hockey players. He was not only part of the Olympic Gold winning Indian Hockey team at LA 1932 and Berlin 1936 Summer Games, but was top scorer in 1932 while second highest scorer in 1936.

3. A street in Munich was named after him post his exploits at the Berlin 1936 Summer Games.
4. The Hockey stadium in Gwalior was named after him. Later, this stadium was converted to a cricket stadium.
5. In 2009, the Madhya Pradesh government named the state’s lifetime achievement award for sports after him.
6. In 2012, prior to London Olympics, the Watford High Street was named after Captain Roop Singh.
