Kolkata: In the recent years, the number of road accidents in India has gone up. And as a result, we have seen both the Union and State Governments spreading awareness about road safety and rules. And Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, also a Rajya Sabha MP has posted a video on Twitter where he is seen stopping his car to request two boys on a scooter to wear their helmets, leaving them happy and equally surprised. And not only this, he asks another guy on a bike with a woman to put on his helmet.
When the two boys saw the former Indian cricket captain, they quite expectedly approached his car for selfies, but seldom did they know that Tendulkar would extract a promise from them in return for the pictures. “Promise me one thing, next time you will use a helmet. It is dangerous for you like this. Life is precious. Is that a promise? 100 Percent?” is what the master said to the boys.
Everything Tendulkar touches, turns into gold. Using his stature, Tendulkar has pro-actively supported and promoted many causes. Be it campaigns on education or children welfare or other social issues, he has time and again proved that alongside the legend that he is, he also is a great human being. This message that he is seen spreading to daily commuters proves his involvement, even at a micro level.
On the field, with this elegant techniques and charming shots, Tendulkar always stole the hearts of millions of fans. Today, it is no different. The willow has been put to rest. The 22 yards don’t see the master stepping on it, but yet again, he won many an accolade with this gesture of his. This is what differentiates Sachin Tendulkar from others and makes him a living legend.
Hopefully, those who don’t follow traffic discipline would be inspired not to break rules because the God of Cricket whom they look up to has a strong message for them.
