Wanindu Hasaranga
The Galle born Allrounder is perhaps the best bowler has had a few knocks and some extraordinary spells in his short career in International cricket. Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was included in the phase 2 of Indian Premier League 2021 which was continuing further from the Match no. 29 that Phase 1 had to stop on due to Corona surge.
The allrounder would debut as one of the Sri Lanka players in IPL 2021 post his man of the series performance at the Lanka Premier League 2020 for the Champions Jaffna Stallions led by Thisara Perera. Hasaranga took 17 wickets from 10 matches at an average of 11.29 and best match figures of 3/15. He scored 127 runs from these matches as well.
Dushmantha Chameera
The Sri Lanka right-arm Pace Bowler is another Lanka Premier League local player to add to Indian Premier League fold. Pathira Vasan Dushmantha Chameera would debut in Indian Premier League as part of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium based set up in the phase 2 leg of the season 2021.
Chameera picked 8 wickets from 8 matches in the Lanka Premier League 2020 for the Angelo Mathews led Colombo Kings, at an average of 32 as he picked 2/27 as his best match figures in the LPL season. Dushmantha Chameera is one of the two Sri Lanka players in IPL 2021 as he was picked by the Virat Kohli led team in a bid to strengthen their team after withdrawals from some members.
