Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has become the breeding ground for young cricketing talents in the domestic circuit of the country. With the format representing those of the other big leagues in the world, TNPL has in a short period gained huge popularity among the current crop of India cricketers, most of whom hail from the Southern part of India.

Dinesh Karthik

The Kolkata Knight Riders Captain/VC has been one of the marquee players retained by his franchise. Karthik has been around for quite a long time and has been getting sporadic chances into the Indian cricket set up.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Murali Vijay

The Indian Opener who was once a regular figure in the test set up and scored the bulk of runs in the top order had fallen woefully out of form and had lost his place in the test team. His TNPL franchise though imposed faith on him and he churned out a few important knocks for his franchise in crucial junctures of the league stages.

He was picked up by the franchise whom he has represented the most number of times- Chennai Super Kings. With Chennai lying at the bottom of the table for the first time in the history of the IPL and getting knocked out before reaching the playoffs, the team management might look back at the decision of not giving Vijay enough chances at the top of the order. Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar has been around in the Indian cricketing circuit and represented the national team in a few T20 matches where he has shown glimpses of promise. This season for RCB has seen the blossoming of Sundar as a fine spin bowler with all the tricks of the trade.

Not only has he been used by Virat Kohli as a trump card to choke the flow of runs in the middle overs he has also come to bat in the later stages of the game and has accelerated the innings when required to do so. Varun Chakravarthy

The Architect turned cricketer from Tamil Nadu was billed as the mystery spinner for Kolkata Knight Riders. He has impressed one and all with his guile, variations, and thinking ability. He has been one of the bright spots in this entire campaign for KKR where they have had their fair share of ups and downs.

With only one first-class game under his belt before this, Varun has earned a surprise call up into the national team for the tour of Australia. He has been selected in the T20 squad. Among the top TNPL Players in IPL 2020.
