El Mago is what fans call David Silva back in Spain and he showed why he’s so called with this solo effort from inside the box against Premier League minnows Blackpool in his first year with the Citizens. The lanky midfielder twisted and turned inside the box, keeping possession and finally firing a curler at the far post. The goal was duly celebrated and he received a yellow card for his antics.

Man City’s No.21 is had assisted two goals for Aguero already on the night but the Hammers were on the receiving end of another stunning effort, this time from Silva himself as he smashed home from an Aguero back pass, using the two West Ham defenders and curling it past with his gifted left foot.

David Silva assisted two on the day and scored the fifth in a wonderful display as City dominated the game. Silva’s goal was pure class as he controlled a quick pass brilliantly and rolled the ball into the United net between the goalie’s legs. Brilliant presence of mind.
