Today we bring you information about some of the Kerala Players in IPL 2021. Kerala is among the weaker teams of Indian Domestic Cricket, has won no Ranji Trophy titles, no Irani Trophy, no Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and no Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Thodupuzha born left-handed batsman Sachin Baby started his domestic career with Kerala in 2009. Sachin was picked by Rajasthan Royals during Indian Premier League 2012 auctions. Baby has, since then, been part of Indian Premier League more or less, though not a regular member of the playing XI for the teams he has played for. Sachin has been a squad member of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sachin Baby features among the Kerala Players in IPL 2021 as he was part of the M Chinnaswamy stadium based side during the corona hit season 2021.
The Perumbavoor born Right-Arm Fast Medium Bowler Basil Thampi started his domestic career with Kerala in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy. Basil Thampi was picked by the now defunct Gujarat Lions during Indian Premier League 2017 auctions. In IPL 2018, Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant were taken out and regular sides Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings came back IPL fold.
Basil took 11 wickets from 12 matches during IPL 2017. Thampi was picked by the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium based Sunrisers Hyderabad during Indian Premier League 2018 and has since then been part of this side. Basil Thampi, thus, features among the Kerala Players in IPL 2021.
The Vizhinjam born right handed batsman who also keeps wickets, Sanju Viswanath Samson, started his domestic career with Kerala in 2011 and debuted in Indian Premier League in the 2012 edition of the tournament for Eden Gardens based Kolkata Knight Riders. Before starting his List A & first class career, Sanju had already played age group cricket with his state side. Sanju was the vice captain of Indian squad for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2014.
Samson has played for Delhi Daredevils before moving back to Rajasthan Royals, the team he captains now. Sanju has scored 300+ runs for the Sawai Man Singh Stadium based side in IPL 2014, IPL 2017, IPL 2018, IPL 2019 & IPL 2020 as he features among the Kerala Players in IPL 2021.
KM Asif, Vishnu Vinod, Sandeep Warrier, and Mohammed Azharuddeen are other cricketers who represent Kerala Players in IPL 2021, though apart from Sanju Samson all other players are looking for a good season to be a regular part of the playing XI of their Indian Premier League teams.
