5. Brian Lara
Former West Indies Captain Brian Charles Lara is among the most celebrated cricketers of all time. Lara was fifth on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 10000 ODI runs. Brian, also the first West Indies Cricketer to score 10000 ODI runs, scored his 10000th run in his 278th innings of his 287th ODI match.
Lara achieved this career milestone on December 16, 2006 during an away ODI Series match at National Stadium, Karachi against Pakistan.
Pakistan won the toss to put West Indies into bat. The Caribbean team scored 238/7 off their 50 overs with Shivnarine Chanderpaul topscoring with a 142-ball 101. Lara scored a 55-ball 44. Pakistan chased down the target in 46.5 overs with Mohammed Hafeez topscoring with a 111-ball 92.
4. Sanath Jayasuriya
Former Sri Lanka Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya was perhaps the most destructive batsman from the Island nation. Jayasuriya was fourth on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 10000 ODI runs. Sanath, also the first Sri Lankan Cricketer to score 10000 ODI runs, scored his 10000th run in his 328th innings of his 337th ODI match.

Ganguly, also the second Indian Cricketer to score 10000 ODI runs, scored his 10000th run in his 263rd innings of his 272nd ODI match.
Dada achieved this career milestone on August 3, 2005 during an Indian Oil Cup match at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium against hosts Sri Lanka. Incidentally, this is the same series where Sanath also got to his 10000 ODI runs.
Winning the toss, India chose to bat first. They scored 220/8 off their 50 overs with Sourav topscoring with 110-ball 51. Sri Lanka chased down the target with two overs to spare. Mahela Jayawardene scored a 114-ball 94.
2. Inzamam-ul Haq
Former Pakistan Cricketer Inzamam-ul Haq is the only Pakistan batsman to score 20,000 international runs. Inzi was second on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 10000 ODI runs. Haq, also the first Pakistan Cricketer to score 10000 ODI runs, scored his 10000th run in his 299th innings of his 322nd ODI match.
Inzamam achieved this career milestone on September 19, 2004 during an ICC Champions Trophy match at Edgbaston, Birmingham against India.
Winning the toss, Pakistan chose to make the second use of pitch. India were bowled out for 200 in 49.5 overs with only Rahul Dravid scoring a fifty. Pakistan chased down the target with 4 balls to spare with Mohammad Yousuf scoring a 114-ball 81. Haq scored a 79-ball 41.
1. Sachin Tendulkar
Indian Maestro Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has abundance of batting records to his credits. Sachin was first on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 10000 ODI runs. Tendulkar, also the first Indian Cricketer to score 10000 ODI runs, scored his 10000th run in his 259th innings of his 266th ODI match.
Sachin achieved this career milestone on March 31, 2001 during a home series match at Nehru Stadium- Indore against visiting Australia. This was almost a year later to when he scored his 9000th ODI run.
Winning the toss, Australia chose to field first. India scored 299/8 from their 50 overs with Sachin topscoring with a 125-ball 139. Australia, in reply, were bowled out for 181 with only Gilchrist scoring a fifty.
