Profile | Sachin Tendulkar is a former Indian international cricketer and one of the greatest players in the history of cricket. He has played for Indian national cricket team from 1989 to 2013 and led the squad as a captain for a while.
He has represented India in the international field for more than 2 decades and considered as the highest run-scorer of all-time till date. He began playing cricket seriously at the age of 11 and went to play for the prestigious Cricket Club of India as a dependable player within just 3 years of dedication. He made his international debut against Pakistan in November 1989, at the age of 16 only. Sachin made his ODI debut in the same following year and World Cup debut after 3 years in 1992.
During his starting days, he arose gradually and took 4-5 years to make his place gloriously in the world cricket. Tendulkar made his first ODI century in 1994 against Australia and gradually went on to became the record holder for most runs in ODI format. He has the most runs in test format as well, and the first ever batsman to score a double century in an ODI match. In his 24 years long cricket career, Tendulkar has made numbers of records and achieved numerous honors with his brilliant playing skills. His batting expertise depends on sheer balance and perfect poise.
The picture-perfect straight drive and the exclusive punch style of hitting the ball are two most praised patterns of his batting. His nice behavior along with his remarkable cricketing stats earned him an unbelievable fan-following across the world. He is considered the second best batsman in this world in both test and ODI formats respectively after Sir Don Bradman and Sir Vivian Richards. (as Compiled by Madhushree Das Ghosh) |
