5. Ricky Ponting
Former Australian Captain Ricky Thomas Ponting is among the five cricketers fastest to 10000 & 11000 ODI runs. Ricky was fifth on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 11000 ODI runs. Ponting, also the first Australian Cricketer to score 11000 ODI runs, scored his 11000th run in his 286th innings of his 295th ODI match.
Ricky achieved this career milestone on February 24, 2008 during a home ODI Series match at Sydney Cricket Ground against India.
Winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first. They scored 317/7 off their 50 overs with Ponting topscoring with 133-ball 124. India, in reply, were bowled out for 299 with a Gautam Gambhir 113 off 119 balls going in vain.
4. Sourav Ganguly
Former India Captain Sourav Ganguly was the first Indian to score a century in the knock out stage of a Cricket World Cup. Sourav was fourth on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 11000 ODI runs. Ganguly, also the second Indian Cricketer to score 11000 ODI runs, scored his 11000th run in his 288th innings of his 298th ODI match.
Sourav achieved this career milestone on August 27, 2007 during an away match at Edgbaston, Birmingham against hosts England. Incidentally, this is almost two years from when he got to his 10000 ODI runs.
Winning the toss, India decided against the first use of pitch. England scored 281/8 off their 50 overs with Ian Bell topscoring with an 89-ball 79. India, in reply, were bowled out for 239 in 48.1 overs. Ganguly scored 72 off 104 balls.
3. Sanath Jayasuriya
Former Sri Lankan Skipper Sanath Teran Jayasuriya won a scintillating 80% of the matches for his team whenever he scored 50+ runs. Jayasuriya was third on the list of cricketers who reached earliest to 11000 ODI runs. Sanath, also the first Sri Lankan Cricketer to score 11000 ODI runs, scored his 11000th run in his 354th innings of his 363rd ODI match.
Jaya achieved this career milestone on July 4, 2006 during an away ODI series match at VRA Ground, Amstelveen against Netherlands.
