Today we bring you information about the CSK players eligible for mid-season transfers. Chennai Super Kings have undoubtedly been one of the strongest and most consistent teams in Indian Premier League’s history. Led admirably by the legendary Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai has managed to punch above their weight on the majority of occasions and earn the moniker of being the ultimate big match team.

The fact that they have reached the playoffs of every IPL season is a testimony to their consistency to the craft of winning. IPL 2020, however, is looking to be a completely different prospect for the Chennai Super Kings outfit. Their aged team has not been able to perform on the expected lines and the team lies at the bottom half of the points table. Imran Tahir (South Africa)

The most premier leg spinner in T20 cricket about a couple of years ago, Imran is now 41. Although the guile is still there, the agility and the consistency required to perform at the highest level is lacking tremendously for this tweaker from South Africa. In the previous seasons, he has picked up wickets in heap and has been the wrecker in chief, breaking partnerships and single-handedly winning matches for his franchise.

This season, however, has been different as Chennai has not gone with a set spin attack. They have tried out Piyush Chawla and Karn Sharma on many occasions. Josh Hazlewood (Australia)

It is seldom seen that a bowler of Hazlewood’s caliber is roped in by a franchise and is then made to warm the benches. Although his credentials with the white ball are not as strong as the ones with the red ball, he can still be regarded as one of the most skillful fast bowlers in the world at the moment.

Chennai has not settled with a pace spearhead as well, a reason why they are not being able to close out games. Although they have gone with Lungi Ngidi, the South African quick has proven to be expensive on many occasions. Mitchell Santner (New Zealand)

A proven match-winner in tough conditions, Santner has been a vital cog in this CSK set up. His ability to choke the runs in the middle overs with his accurate bowling and his ability to strike lusty blows at the end of an innings keeps him in good stead as the all-rounder option.

However, the performances of Sam Curran with both the bat and the ball have completely overshadowed the Kiwi’s presence. Narayan Jagadeesan

Another talented wicket-keeper batsman who flourished in the only opportunity he got in the competition, Jagadeesan has been tremendously successful in the Tamil Nadu Premier League scoring tons of runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Although Gaikwad is a middle-order batsman, he has been sent on many occasions to up the ante and increases the scoring rate. This change in role has proved to be too much and Gaikwad has faltered on many occasions. It would have been better if he would have been given the responsibility of consolidating the innings along with his senior pros. Among the CSK players eligible for mid-season transfers.
